Obituary of Oscar Jack Olson

Oscar (Jack) Olson Vestal: Oscar (Jack) Olson, 97, formerly of Georgetown, SC, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Betty; and two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Wendy, with whom he resided; grandson, Chris of Windsor; three granddaughters, Debra (Michael) Schmeltzer, Florida, Heather Pass of Binghamton, and Julie (Shannon) Young, Colorado; two step-grandchildren, Craig and Keven (Brandy) Horak; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline (Elwyn) Barnes of Cape Cod; and many wonderful friends in Georgetown, SC. He was a wonderful dad and a very loving grandfather. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses on Seton 1 and Ross 1, especially a most gentle and caring "Carmen". Also to the Hospice caregivers. Everyone was wonderful. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd, Vestal, NY 13850. Arrangements are by the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc, 300 East Main St, Endicott. "God saw the path was getting steep, the hills so hard to climb.
