Obituary of Stella Michaels

Stella Michaels Of Binghamton, NY Stella Michaels, recently of Binghamton, New York, passed away on April 19, 2011 from primary peritoneal cancer. She was 57. Born September 6, 1953 and raised in Brooklyn, NY (and partly in Manlius, NY) Stella had a great mind, great character, unequaled emotional maturity and strength, and she was full of life - a clear and shining example of the best the world has to offer. She appreciated the 50's ("I like Ike" at age 5), the 60's (music by the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan) and the 70's (Disco) while always being an "A" student, including at Brooklyn College where she was truly able to appreciate Shakespeare and other great playwrights and poets throughout history. In the greatest love story ever, which began August 29th, 1978 at Studio 54 in New York with their eyes meeting to the beat of Donna Summer's "Last Dance", Stella and Alan S. Michaels were married "forever, and ever, and always" on Feb 10, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stella put family first; and she totally loved her two sons, Jack and Benjamin Michaels, the non-stop focus of her life. Stella is survived by: her loving husband and soul mate, Alan; her wonderful and most precious son, Benjamin; her most caring brother, John Messina; and her loving sister, Angela Messina Gobler. Stella Michaels was predeceased by: her sweet son, Jack Michaels; her father, Sal Messina; and her mother, Ada Sposato Messina, whom Stella greatly loved and adored. A graveside memorial service / celebration of life is being held at the convenience of the family at Vestal Hills Memorial Park in Vestal, NY.
