Virginia E. Meyers
Endicott: Virginia E. Meyers, 93, of Endicott, passed away peacefully Monday, August 1, 2011, at James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late George and Gladys Peake. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Paul Meyers; and her sisters, Joyce and Phyllis. She is survived by her daughters and "sons"-in-law, Donna and John Krzyzewski and Marilyn and Bert Karlson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kim Krzyzewski, Kristen Krzyzewski and David Yalowitz, Michael and Laura Karlson; adored great-granddaughter, Anya Joseph; and great-grandson to be, Jacob; her nieces, Susan Wesh, Linda Viverito, Lorraine Herreros and Nancy Gaboriault; special family member, Lyndon Joseph; special friends, Leann Baker and Rada Cejic. "Ginny" was an incredible mom and an even more incredible grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved being the central part of her family's life. In addition she loved crafts, reading, playing cards, baking, and caring for strays that always seem to end up on her porch. We would like to give very special thanks for the loving care given to her on Unit 1 at James G. Johnston Nursing Facility, nurses, Leann, Eddy, Cathy, and Ruth; caregivers, Sean, Pharah, Sara, Jennifer, Shelly, Danielle, Julie, Sherry, Kelly, Becky, Scott, Terry, Donna and Barb.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Ave., Endicott. The Rev. James Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Care Council, Washington Ave., Endicott, NY 13760; or a charity of one's choice.
