Wanda E. Turner of Newark Valley Wanda E. Turner passed away after a long illness at the Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing on Friday, December 12, 2008, at the age of 73. She was born in Newark Valley N.Y. on February 14, 1935. Wanda was employed for many years through the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC) in Binghamton, N.Y. She loved dressing up, putting on her costume jewelry, visiting and talking with people. She enjoyed stuffed animals, listening to "old" country music and watching "The Lone Ranger". She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Turner; her mother, Emma Corson; her dear friend, Frank; and her cousin, Laura (Corson) Brigham, who also served as her Conservator for many years after the death of her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Peter) Turner-Miller, Swansea, Ill.; two grandchildren, Andrew (Nicole) Pelton, stationed at Dover, DL USAF, and Krystina (Michael) Willard, Warner Robbins, Ga.; and four great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Andrew, Alexis and Lillian. A special thank you to Aunt Linda (Corson) and Jim Philips, who spent countless hours visiting with her and keeping her connected with her family through pictures, phone calls, attending reunions and caring for her needs. Many thanks also to her Hospice Nurse, Mary and Social Workers, Sara and April who comforted her through her illness. Services were private and she will be buried at the Maine Cemetery near her parents. Arrangements are under the direction of Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home.
