Edward W. Hower
Edward W. Hower 75, of Endicott went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his mother Alma, stepfather Aaron Reisenwitz, and brother Earl. He is survived by his wife Ethel; five children, Steven (Jamie) Hower, Laura (Dan) Hutchings, Sharon Hower and husband James Sobiech, Carol Hower, Peter Hower and Sarah Terzi; grandchildren Debbie, Jessie, Jennifer, Tanya, Heidi, Nicholas and Nigel; great grandchildren Claire, Lindsay, Alyssa, Haley, Ryan, and Rudy; brother, Lincoln Hower; sister Ruth Hopple; several nieces and nephews. His special friend Dennis Corwin. He was a member of the Union Center United Methodist Church, where he was very active within the church. He also handled the sound equipment at the church. He was a member of the Southerntiersmen Barbershop Quartet. He was a retired employee of the IBM Corp. with 39 years of service, and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the US Army. Edward liked to garden. He will be greatly missed by both his family and church family.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM from the Union Center United Methodist Church, 128 Maple Dr. The Rev. Brown Naik, Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott, Sunday from 2-5 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Assn., P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
