Obituary of John W. Thayer

John Thayer John Thayer, 62, passed away unexpectedly on 10/29/2011. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ginny (Virginia Ford) Thayer; his mother, Betty Ingram; his wife's parents, Earl (Carol) Ford; his daughter, Michelle (Steven) Witsch and their children; his sisters, Debbie Mattingly and Bonnie (Gary) Thrasher; his brothers, Philip (Jule) Cleary and Larry Thayer, as well as many nieces, nephews and their children, including Jason, Stephanie, Jackie and Wendy. He is also survived by his life-long friend, Peter Hoey and his kitty Matilda. John's faith in God and belief in salvation through Jesus Christ brought him through some very tough times. When problems came he would say "God didn't take today off" and keep moving forward. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 12th at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon with a memorial service at noon. Pastor Oleh Kubik will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Family & Children's Society, 257 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905 or to the charity of your choice . Family and friends are invited to the Thayer home after the memorial service to celebrate John's life.
