Obituary of Ronald F. Hartman

Johnson City: Hartman, Ronald Frederick of Johnson City passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 8, 2012, with his family by his side at Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Darl and Anna Hartman and his brother, Richard. He is survived by his sisters, Darla Walburger (Richard) of Endicott, NY, Penny Martin (Jackie) of Mesquite, TX, and sister-in-law, Judi Hartman of Pinellas Park, FL; eight children, Judy, Ronnie, Ritchie, Shirley, Bonnie, Ivy, Walter and Jack of Texas; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Ron was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a jet mechanic in the US Air Force. Ron retired as supervisor from Dallas Area Rapid Transit in Dallas, TX. Born in Endicott, NY, he joined the US Air Force and lived in Texas for many years. He moved back to Endicott after retirement and worked at Wal-Mart in Vestal for 15 years. The family would like to thank the staff at Woodland Manor, Vestal Nursing Center and Susquehanna Nursing & Rehab Center for the wonderful care he was given. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 11 AM from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott, officiated by Pastor Kevin Dunn. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Vestal Park Cemetery, Vestal NY. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
