Obituary of Barbara A Sechrist

Barbara Anne Sechrist Has left us to be with the lord. Born June 12, 1936 Jersey City, NJ. She is preceded by husband, Robert W. Sechrist; and stepfather, Lewis Tarbox; mother, Mabel Eunice Chamberlin Tarbox; two very special grandmothers, Mabel Chainberlain and Hille Pascoe Hayward; father-in-law, James Sechrist; and special grandson, David Andrew Bryant. Barbara is survived by her son, Richard and wife Carol Sechrist of Port Charlotte, FL; daughter, Suzanne M. Sechrist-Huntley and husband Greg M. Huntley of Conklin; also Mike Pearlstein; several grandchildren, Bradley J. Bryant of GA, Casey and Brandon Nickerson of Brackney, PA and special granddaughter, Paige Shyanne Nickerson; mother-in-law, Arletta Sechrist, Donald and Donna Sechrist, Pat and Gene Wright and Cheyrl and Bob Whitehead; several nieces and nephews; and Godson, J.J. Pencek and special friends Betty and Jerry Pencek. Special thanks to Joyce Travis for her special care. Barbara was an organizational 4-H leader of the Bow Bridge Shepherds and Wooly Meadows Sheep Club for 12 years, where the clubs received several grand reserve champion and many other awards. She was a lifetime member of the Hartford Fair Society. She gave 25 years of faithful service to Apolacon Township as a majority leader on the Board of Elections, auditor and secretary-treasurer, building permit office under the direction of supervisor. Barbara and others received an award from Senator Lemmond for their community service. Barbara loved her family and friends very much, boating and camping on Cayuga Lake, cooking and visiting Florida beaches, watching sunsets from Boca Grande Lighthouse. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott, Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home with Msgr. Michael Meagher officiating. Burial will follow in the Choconut Cemetery, Friendsville, PA.
