Obituary of Zelma W. Shaver

Zelma W. Hunsinger Shaver Zelma W. Hunsinger Shaver, 100, of Vestal went to rest in the arms of her Lord on December 27, 2012. She was married to Howard (Jim) Hunsinger, deceased, for 52 years. They had 15 children: Donald, deceased, (Geraldine) deceased, (Norma) Hunsinger; Howard A. (Polly) deceased, (Rana) Hunsinger; Rovena (Arthur) Clymer; Catherine (Lester) Bakeman; Elva (Fletcher) Chapin; Charlotte (Bill) Kie; Nancy (Ed), deceased, Breen; Janet (Phil) Williams; Donna (Lou), deceased, Shaver; Leo (Brenda) Hunsinger; Carol (Stephen) Card; Sally (Thomas) Huyck; Thomas, deceased, (Theresa), deceased Hunsinger; Ronald (Vickie) Hunsinger; Gail (Wayne) Harper. She had 50 grandchildren, 130 great grandchildren and 52 great great grandchildren. Zelma married Kenneth Shaver, deceased, who had eight children: Corky Shaver; Lou Shaver, deceased; Kenneth Shaver Jr., deceased; Bernie Shaver; Donna Manzer (deceased; Bessie Bogart; Shirley Shook and Judy Tokar. She was a member of the Bethesda Bible Church and the Vestal Senior Citizens. Zelma loved her Lord and Savior and his love shone through her. She devoted her life to her family. Zelma would say to those she loved: "When it comes my time to leave here, and I've said my last good-bye, don't spend your money for flowers; just a rose will do." Funeral Services for Zelma will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St. Vestal with Charlie Sakevich officiating. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends will also be received on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850 or to the church of your choice.
