Obituary of Laura Fowler

Laura Fowler Vestal: Laura Fowler, born February 13, 1908, went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Fowler; daughter, Jacqueline Pilkington; grandson, Steven Fowler; 6 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by her sister, Esther Joyce; her sons, Gary Fowler and David Fowler; daughter-in-law, Michele Fowler; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Laura graduated from Binghamton High School in 1926 and Union Teachers Training School in 1927. She taught school for two years in Castle Creek and Lordville, NY before going to work for the Triple Cities Traction Company. She married in 1934 and became a full time homemaker. She was a devoted member of the Vestal United Methodist Church for 68 years. Laura was best known for her baking, especially her chocolate chip cookies, and her love for her family. Funeral services for Laura will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc., 765 Main Street, Vestal, with Rev. Michael Willis officiating. Interment services will be held in a private family cemetery. The family will receive their friends on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30 at the Funeral Home.
