Mrs. Jackson put on the best birthday parties in the neighborhood. Every year for Ginie's party, Mrs. Jackson would set up the "Find-the-Treasure" yarn game all over the house! Each girl was given the end of a long string of yarn that had been intertwined with all the other pieces of yarn - forming a web on the floor all about the main floor of the house. We would each untangle our strings..crawling around each other and around the furniture...and at the end we would find our special treat. We loved that - talk about a great way to get the giggles started! And that's the other thing I remember - Mrs. Jackson's laugh. She had a great big bubbly laugh that revealed her delight with people and life.
My thoughts are with Ginie and the rest of the family.
