Obituary of Dorothy Jackson

Dorothy J. Jackson of Vestal Dorothy J. Jackson, of Vestal, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Rose (Baxter) Johnson; also by five siblings, William Johnson, Edythe Allen, Raymond Johnson, Walter Johnson, and Edward Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Henry (Hank) Jackson, Vestal; her children, Donald Jackson, Vestal, Jeffrey (Gerri) Jackson, Voorhees, N.J., Virginia (David) Olson, Colchester, Vt.; four grandchildren, Tracy Jackson, Amy Jackson, Matthew Olson and Lauren Olson; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was a Watercolor Artist and a member of the F.A.A.S.T. (Fine Arts Association of the Southern Tier). She was a member of St. Andrew's Church, Vestal and a member of the Briercliff Manor Garden Club and an avid Bridge player. The family would like to thank the staff at Lourdes Hospital and Lourdes Hospice for their wonderful and kind care. Also Dr. Susan Choi and the staff at the Guthrie Medical Group for all their care through the year. A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Memorial Park Baptist Church, 1013 Front St., Vestal. The Rev. Martin A. Seel Jr., Rector of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, will officiate. Burial will be at the family's convenience. Those wishing may make contributions in Dorothy's memory to the charity of their choice.
